Busy on the weekends, but plenty of fun things to try! giant slide, climbing equipment, music area, little kids area, water hole in the sand. Bike path, walking path. Be aware the parking lot is pretty small!
Well done! Could use some doggy waste bag stations. There are none for some reason. Twice I've picked up dog poop from the sidewalks. (Not my dog). Park is so popular that trash receptacles are overflowing. So needs more attention to that. Congratulations on a beautiful, well designed park. Hopefully the next phase has an off leash dog park. We noticed that there is a section of hydroseeded wildflowers right by the parking lot. Lots of California Poppies coming up. Some other flowery goodies also. Can't wait to see this turn into a flowery meadow.
What a treat to have a wide open park in Alameda. Great playground and zipline for the kids. A nice walk. Park will take years to fully develop but thank you to the late Jean Sweeney for making this possible.
Nice historic land that has been converted into a family park. We only visited the playground area. It has a well-designed playground space, zip line, cycling track, large sandpit, wide slide and hill, plus restrooms.
My only concern is that kids of different ages and sizes go down the same aluminum slide and most adults are just watching. I saw a lot of close calls with a larger kid about to slide into a smaller kid who didn't have time to leave the bottom area.
It's so nice here. The new playground is great. It's not quite finished yet. But the playground is done. As is the walking path and the bike path. I love that they will not be building any houses right at the park like they did with the little park by the water. We need MORE open spaces!!
