If your looking for great, reliable, and honest mechanics, A-1 Auto in Hayward is the place to go! Ernesto, Luis and the team are great. My truck was shaking at every stop light and they were able run a diagnostics, explain what was going on with it (in an easy to understand way) and gave me options on what could be done to fix it. A new set of fuel injectors later I was back on the road. I even referred my Mom and Step Dad and they are now my go to family's mechanic.

I cannot say enough about what a great business this is. For years I have been bringing all of my autos to Ernesto at A1 auto repair when service or attention was needed and every single time I received excellent service, professional and thorough!

So I was calling around to have my transmission repair..Damn the prices was higher than the clouds.. shop a few quotes me 6k, 5.3k and finally came across Ernesto the Owner his was reasonably competitive for 3.5 to rebuild mine.. The Transmission on my 07 Ranger went down. I got a couple estimates from different places. A-1 was the most reasonable, to my have transmission rebuilt. I set up a day with Ernesto to bring my truck in. He told me it would take about a week. Gave him a deposit and was on my way. After a week and a couple days ( due to a certain parts delayed delivery). I got my truck back. Ernesto & I took a little test drive and everything seemed good. Even felt like I gained a few HP'S.
The final payment was exactly what Ernesto quoted. Which is important. Some guys always try to flip some excuse to jack up the final balance a little more. But Ernesto kept his word.
Overall the experience was swift & painless. Fair price for reasonable good work. Other than my truck having to be left in a open lot, in front of the shop every night. It was a little worrisome. I have to say though, nothing did happen to my truck and was left untouched.
I recommend A-1. Definitely helped me in my situation, and got me back on the road .
