Sad that the Potomac is closed during the Pandemic.
President FDR's yacht! Tons of history and the ship rocks!
A dozen of us went on a tour here and all enjoyed every moment of the guides knowledgeable discourse.
It was an interesting afternoon visiting The Potomac. Both kids and adults in our group enjoy the visit. The docents were very nice and friendly taking us around. Got lots of little bits of trivia while touring the boat.
We are all history buffs in our family and it was a real pleasure visiting the ship. We haven't gone out on the bay on one of their tours, yet, but that's in the works for a future trip.
My husband and I took the Fourth of July cruise and it was amazing. It was impeccably run by kind and knowledgeable people. We saw multiple firework shows and enjoyed every minute of our trip. Also, as a teacher, it was great to be able to contribute to a nonprofit that dedicates itself to educating children about FDR, the Great Depression, and WW11. The employees were so dedicated to the furthering of education that when I mentioned I was a history teacher they gave me teaching materials to further the message of FDR and his important place in history. I cannot recommend the USS Potomac cruises enough. It is worth every penny!!
