Temescal Regional Recreation Area

Easily accessible and fun park with a sand beach and swim area mid-way. Also a children's playground by the north entrance. On weekends you'll catch fishing on the far edge so it's good to wear sensible shoes especially if it's been wet.

Good park with a short loop trail along the lake. Some parts of the trail are paved and some are not but easy to walk. Bunch of picnic tables and grills for picnic. Restrooms were not super clean.

Gem of a park in north Oakland. A huge beautiful lake for fishing and swimming and boating. Bathrooms, two different parking lots, side street access. Lots of picnic tables, a playground. Many trees perfect for climbing!

Very close to 24 freeway for easy access but therefore a little bit noisy, and a bit of pollution from the traffic. Apart from that it's a wonderful park for a visit.

Not crowded, scenic oak forest and lake, with walking paths, children's play area, ample parking, picnic areas, fishing pier, a small short creek and even a seasonal beach for swimming. A few redwood trees, also.

Very nice park with walking and hiking trail with beautiful views around the lake. Good for fishing, having a small sandy beach area but it was closed due to blue green algae hazard. Alot of bbq n picnic areas. $5 entry n parking fee. Really fun for kids as there is play area as well. Restrooms are plenty n clean, and showers as well so you don’t need to worry for a clean shower after swimming.
