“We had the best teachers! Except Mr. McFarlane - 1975. The Parker 5: Mrs. Davis, Miss M. Lee, Miss D. Lee, (sisters) Mrs. Hall, (Arbuckle) and Miss Clay! Five gorgeous Black women who made a wonderful impact on our lives. I graduated in 1976! Mrs. Hall (Arbuckle) knew the Roberts family the longest. She was there for us when our daddy died in 1969. Four out of 6 of us graduated from Parker. My family was walked to school by The Black Panthers. Parker Elementary School IS my history & home.”

(As it should be. ) They value all our education, push us to do better, and offer out side of school help if you have any troubles at home. This school is unique and if you dont like regular High Schools. This would be the school for you. Acceptance into the school is very low. So, apply fast if you want to go to this school (or get on the waiting list).”

“Cat is such a wonderful caregiver! Our daughter was in her care starting at 11 months old and was there until she was a bit over 3 when the daycare moved from Alameda. Cat provides a loving, fun-filled environment that our daughter always looked forward to. No tears - in fact sometimes she wasn't ready to come home! This daycare is truly a find - we are grateful to have had it for as long as we did. Oakland families are lucky to have Zebra Stripes!”
