“In my opinion this is the best part about working at LLNL; we have an Onsite dojo! There are two great instructors, one teaching Kajukenbo and one teaching Kali. Both are Master level martial artists, excellent teachers and all around cool guys. Oh and did I mention that there is no charge? That's right, I've practiced Kali for about 13 years now and never paid a cent! They teach because they love there art and want to share it. Also, this is just something to do at Lunch time, the teachers work here too. The only bummer is that if you don't work here (or can't get onsite for some reason), you can't practice with us.”

“Martial Arts America is a great place to practice Krav Maga in the east bay. The instructor here, Andrew, is both friendly and very experienced. He teaches the principles and mechanics of Krav Maga clearly and helps identify areas for improvement in his students' technique. Learning a new skill like Krav Maga can be intimidating, but in the time I have been attending MAA I've practiced with a variety of folks in different life stages and skill levels and everyone has been very friendly and willing to practice with an appropriate level of intensity. The workout is great and a lot of fun too. I'd highly recommend checking this place out if you're looking for Krav Maga in the east bay area. They've also got a few other locations around the bay area so the flexibility to attend other locations is also a perk. Just show up in workout clothes and you'll fit right in for the Krav Maga program -- nobody else will be wearing any kind of fancy Kung Fu Gi. Just normal people getting a great workout and learning a valuable skill.”
