“This building is a hidden gem of the East Bay. It is a labyrinth of private nooks perfect for contemplation and remembrance. They welcome visitors both to admire the architecture, designed in part by Julia Morgan, as well as to memorialize their loved ones. Additionally, they host musical performances in conjunction with local arts groups that both feed the local culture and, I think, celebrate the residents.”

“I was in need of immediate carpet cleaning and J&J answered his phone on my first try and without hesitation advised me that he would be at my apartment the next morning at agreed 10 am time. Very impressive and professional. Showed up 15 minutes early, we went over what I needed cleaned then immediately got to work. The jib was done in promised time and gave instructions on how long to allow the carpets to completely dry. I recommend J & J and definitely will use again.”

“I understand that bakeshops are too busy to take and make orders, so I needed to always give a phone call and send emails to follow up on my order. I can say Henry is responsive than the other cake vendors around Oakland. He’s able to accommodate my inquiries in a quick span. He works within the budget and delivers good customer service.”

“A friend and I made a quick detour into Oakland to check out Burma Superstar on our last trip to the bay, and it was absolutely worth the time. The restaurant has a reputation for having excellent food and a solid dining experience and it didn't disappoint. It's in a nice part of Oakland, and if you're lucky you might just be able to find a parallel parking spot nearby! Pro Tip: Use the Yelp app to put yourself in line if you're going at a busy time! When I went, we didn't realize this was an option, but luckily we went on a weeknight and there wasn't much of a crowd so we were inside the restaurant within 10 minutes of arrival. Even if you're stuck outside for a bit, they have benches and heaters outside so you aren't uncomfortable. Now onto the food...I can honestly say that I didn't dislike anything I had to eat at Burma Superstar (an accomplishment, I promise!). I had the Spicy Noodles as my main dish, and the Salt and Pepper Calamari as my starter -- both excellent options. The coconut rice is a nice amount of coconut flavor while maintaining the innate sweetness therein as well. One thing to note, the Samusas are NOT to be confused with Samosas (Indian). The taste is different, but I can see some relation as the execution is similar. Not a food item, but added bonus: they have coconut water in-coconut! They'll crack the coconut and add a straw for you, and at the end of the night, they'll also completely break the coconut for you to be able to eat the meat if you'd like. Overall, I have 0 hangups in saying that Burma Superstar does live up to the hype you've been hearing about it -- go check it out!”

“The best in Oakland for the price. Have loved these guys forever and it's the first call I made as soon as we found out we had to evacuate our area. They didn't let us down and in fact treated us like royalty and went our of their way to help us. I can't wait to go back for a fun getaway.”

“Small local business please support them, their food is something out of a fine dining restaurant. The setting is casual and relaxed here. Just what the East Bay needed. Even if we did not live in the East Bay we would definitely come back to this restaurant. They have a great beer and wine selection. They are open for lunch with a different menu from dinner. Pet friendly patio as well so you know we will be bringing in our fur babies soon! On top of all that they have a butchery with fresh cuts! Their sausage in the butchery is delicious.”

“I have been a patient of Dr. Irwin’s for one year. When I first began to see her, I could barely walk and had to use a cane. Although I had previously had an active lifestyle, I had suffered a moderately severe accident. She and her staff are extremely helpful and create a friendly atmosphere. I truly do not believe I would be able to walk as well, with as short of a recovery time, as I do now, if not for Dr. Irwin’s treatment. Patrice, who is a massage therapist I often see Is pleasure to talk to and a relief ????to have a session with.Dr. Irwin’s deep understand and years of experience support a very pragmatic and evidence-based (some may disagree) approach. I hope the great staff and dr. continued to so be available for me.”

“I participate in several online learning communities and professional groups with Dr. Yang. His posts are always informative, relevant, and kind; his comments and replies demonstrate the perfect balance of expertise and humility I would most want to see in a psychiatrist. I see that he approaches his psychiatry practice and patients with a sense of humanity, compassion, and respect. He is an excellent teacher and physician. I would absolutely refer a friend or family member to him.”

“Dr King and her team are fantastic! I had avoided going to the dentist for a couple of years because I just hate it but Dr King and her assistant Eileen made me feel so welcome and relaxed. They clearly know what they’re doing and are extremely thorough, efficient, and communicative the whole time.”
