  Paid parking but it’s not too expensive. Max 2 hour parking but you can easily walk around the reservoir within 1 1/2 hour. Also has a great picnic area with playground and play structure for the family. Also great place to walk the dog, there’s a water bowl halfway around the reservoir with a little water tap with clean water to drink. Several public restrooms around the reservoir too.

  Very popular spot for walking or running so the paved path around the lake can get crowded during peak hours. There is fishing also with bass, trout, catfish, and bluegill. Fishing spots also fill up fast.

  Good place for seeing birds. Nicely paved trail around the lake. Dog and kid friendly.

  Lafayette reservoir I'd a nice little local park in SF Bay Area (East Bay). There is a nice 5 mile rolling hill hiking trail around the reservoir with beautiful scenery with about a 1,000 ft of elevation gain. There is also a fairly flat paved trail at lower elevation around the reservoir. Parking can be an issue if you don't get there early on a nice day.

  Great place for family gatherings... The walk around the reservoir is beautiful, quick and easy for people of all ages, good playgrounds for tots and older children, and seems safe.
