(August 15, 2016, 6:54 pm)As of May 2015, The Martinez Historical Society and volunteers at large are currently doing a restoration on the Potter's Field. Four residents have been documented and had their stories told. They come from Greece, Japan, England, and one is a former slave who was one of the first African-Americans to vote in California. They are also restoring the Chinese Funerary Burner. Mortar has been removed from the visible bricks, weeds and destructive plants have been removed.
