“5 stars because of the Bakery and the Delta view provided at this venue. Frankly most of Antioch is a place where one must often look over their shoulder — at least at Monica’s one can be at ease. The food is delicious, the staff while often a bit stretched is friendly & courteous, it has a diverse arrangement of places to dine and drink. The fire pits can be enjoyable on a chilly night or day especially with a drink in hand! While you may full indulgent don't let that hinder the good time to be had. They have live music which draws a crowd but that is great if your trying to enjoy an evening or socializing. Sundays are very busy after 10 a.m. onward. The bakery while not open Monday’s offers throughout the rest of the week a fine array of decadent treats that would make your trainer blush. It handily puts the competition in its place. A fine place indeed, that provides an escape which in my estimation is worth every penny!”

“Wish I would have taken more pics! The food was amazing. I hadn't been here in 10 years or more and it was nice to see the place packed. We got the 20th burger (I think), the chicken grilled with Swiss on sourdough and the mixed appetizers. The orders do not come with fries which we didn't realize when we ordered but were happy we didn't get fries because everything else was so good. Definitely eat here”

“I’ve been coming to el nido since I was a child, and I always make a stop here when I’m home! Their chicken soup is my comfort food, especially on a rainy day (add cheese and jalapeños)! I am a vegetarian and finding creative dishes paired with such tasteful satisfaction is a rarity, but something I can genuinely find here every time. Usually Mr pickles has at least 3 employees even when they're slow so it's pretty impressive that she was able to do it all herself, she must be a manager. And if she's not, she should be! Long story short, we combined our leftovers and brought then home for my son. Everything was tasty and hot. There's so much more on the menu, we plan to return. I can't say it's a local secret because half the restaurant was full while we dined and several takeout orders were picked up. Nachos, OK, I didn't care for Al Pastor and that is one of my favorites. Funny (kinda) Door Dash delivery 39-45 minutes DD order and Pickup 75-90+ minutes In person , 10 minutes Everything on DD is $1 more. Been supporting this restaurant when they just started as a food truck behind Taco Bell. I order shrimp fries and shrimp tacos all the time. They give you your money’s worth of food and don’t skimp on anything. I’ve recommended this place to a lot of my friends and family who aren’t even Hispanic and they love the food as well. Customer service is A1. They’re not like el patron where they’re rude and forget your order. They’re kind folks that make great food. These are the type of the businesses I like to support.”

“I needed to charge my Tesla and went by the inside road just to get a feel for Walnut Creek. Plaza Escuela buzzes with activity and is a prime location with great restaurants and shopping. I was impressed by the parking design as it did not make the car go in circles the full width of the parking floor and then turn for the next floor. The car drives much short to find its space! To top it all, most spots other than valet are free!”
