  I'm writing about a Walgreens policy that may (hopefully) be changed by the time you read this.
  
  Update 1/2020: Walgreens no longer requires a scan of your ID.
  
  Recently, Walgreens started requiring an ID scan when purchasing adult items like alcohol and tobacco. While I applaud their effort to curb underage sales, this policy is excessive and invasive. Other stores typically require that one's ID be shown, but do not scan it. In most cases, the salesclerk enters confirmation that the ID has been scanned, perhaps by recording the birth year.
  
  However, Walgreens policy is invasive as, by scanning the ID barcode, they gather personally identifiable information about the consumption habits of their patrons. There is no assurance that the use of this information is limited and not being sold to data aggregators for ultimate consumption by insurance companies or other parties whose interests are not aligned with patrons.

  Went to get my baby sister medicine and the woman behind the counter, Sam, was fast and incredibly helpful

  This is the normal pharmacy I use without any issues. I tried to fill my prescription today but they were out of my medication. I attempted to call surrounding Walgreens, but everyone was out of the same medication. When the pharmacy found out I was calling to find the medication at other stores, they took it in their owns hands to find the medication for me and called me to let me know they found it at a different location if I would like to pick it up there. They went out of their way to help me. It was completely unexpected and very appreciated since it is my migraine medication.
