“Floatation therapy works wonders for me to reduce stress. I highly suggest it. The float tank and shower were nice and clean. Not really aesthetically pleasing, but functional. In my opinion, the nicest float tanks in Bakersfield. The rest of the room could use some minor maintenance and definitely some routine cleaning. I had a fairly early appointment and there was a lot of salt accumulated on the walls in various places that could not have been just from that day. That being said, they still have the cleanest float tanks in town, and I will be back.”

“We highly recommend St. Catherine’s Home Care in Bakersfield, CA. Even with the very best services, there are sometimes family members who have difficulty understanding the progression of dementia and the illnesses associated with advanced aging, so we thought it appropriate to post what we have experienced with St. Catherine’s Home Care over the past 3, almost 4 years. Three and a half years ago our mother’s increasing dementia became too much for us, both working full time, to continue trying to care for her in our home. After a lengthy search, including several long-term elderly care facilities and private 6-bed homes, we settled on St. Catherine’s. The reasons for us were clear: staff was exceptional in their empathy for the residents, the home and residents looked and smelled immaculate, the meals were prepared from scratch every day, they were welcoming to outside visitors at any time and did not prompt us to have our mother medicated to keep her quiet (as had other facilities we had visited previously). Since that time our mother came close to dying of pneumonia, an unfortunate all too often occurrence with those suffering from dementia; however, because of the very careful and patient care by St. Catherine’s staff, she fully recovered and has, without a doubt, remained in excellent physical health because of their continued attentiveness. All this time, St. Catherine’s owner and staff have always been most gracious and welcoming to our family members at all times and, when we visit usually unannounced, the staff both gives us time to privately meet with our mother and gives us full updates as to her condition and needs. Even more telling is, as our mother is now on hospice, the hospice nurses all tell us that St. Catherine’s is an absolute favorite of theirs, saying all the residents are kept in excellent condition and staff do not seek to overmedicate. We absolutely recommend and give our deepest gratitude to all the staff and owner of St. Catherine’s. Their constant attention, caring, and frankly love toward their residents is without doubt the reason our mother remains in such good physical health. “Hoffman Hospice Home is amazing. The death of my husband was very much unexpected, and we were going through all the things leading up to it during the virus restrictions. When a series of medical mistakes in rapid succession had me facing that Steve was at end of life they provided a caring and nurturing environment for his last few days. There were no rules for visiting, and along with the efforts they made to ensure Steve was able to pass in comfort and in peace the staff was also tremendously supportive and wonderful with myself and the rest of our family. Because of the timing we weren't able to use their in-home services, but based on the experience I had with Hoffman Hospice Home on Buena Vista I can promise they'll do everything they can to help both you and your loved one in any way they can.”

“I went in with a front crown that came off and the front tooth next to it just broke. I would not smile or laugh. Had to close mouth smile for a long time. Also my other front teeth were decaying. It was so embarrassing. I did not want to go anywhere. I was also worried about my insurance. But I went in to my surprise the staff treated me very kind, and helped with my insurance along with the Dr., they are all wonderful! I never thought I would come out with my front teeth looking like they did in my teens and twenties! I cried when I looked in the mirror, I was so happy.
