“Best Sushi place in Bakersfield! They have really good service and food. Their sushi is almost always fresh and always tasty. They have specials that are genuinely Japanese, like Uni (sea urchin) and different cuts of quality tuna. I've had sushi in big cities all over the US, and I can say that Umi measures neck-and-neck with any sushi you can get in San Francisco or NYC. Charlie, the owner, is a great restaurateur, and he owns several businesses in the area. He's a great guy, and his restaurants never dissapoint.”

“I had been looking for a dr that wasn't going to rush me in and out and wasn't going to pencil whip prescription and prescription. Dr Kubo is wonderful. Caring and compassionate. He spends the time necessary without making your visit painfully long. Wait room was empty becuse they actually schedule patients correctly...tons of traffic but no one sitting around waiting for hours. I am so happy I found Dr. Calvin Kubo.”

Only thing that threw me off was the chocolate shake. For some reason it was super warm at the top & bottom of the cup. “Greatest customer service I have ever encountered by far!!!! Stephen, the Service Manager, is exquisite! He literally opened the doors for me after closing. I had to leave work early and had a terrible day, but Stephen made it all that much better! I got my car and in great condition by the way. The team did a really great job! Not to mention the really nice service team that got me in and out super fast all while letting me understand what they were doing to the vehicle. I highly recommend and love how they don't upcharge. Great facility. Stephen, again, is the freaking best!!!!!”

“We asked to be seated in quiet area because MIL is hard of hearing. It wasn't busy on Monday 1245pm. We were seated in new addition, and it was quiet. The Reuben and pastrami sandwiches were outstanding. My potato salad was underwhelming. Side salad generous and fresh. Onion rings were good. Tab for 3 sandwiches with a side, and one ice tea was $45. Admittedly, the sandwiches were outstanding, but I don't know if I would return. Pricey. No one wore masks for inside seating...not even the staff. That surprised me, as Kern is in the red tier. Because 93 year old MIL loves the place, and less than 3 miles from her home, we will occasionally treat her here for breakfast or lunch. Decor is clean, cozy knotty pine.”

“So covid has forced many restaurants to change how they run things. The waiting to be seated part: wait was expected. The wait for food: kitchen was backed up, expected. Now maybe because I wasn't feeling well today my taste buds were off, but my steak was bland, I had to add steak sauce which makes me wonder if they don't season the meat. The mash potatoes were amazing and the veggies were the right balance of cooked to crunch consistency. The garlic shrimp wasn't garlicky enough. Overall I enjoyed my meal and the atmosphere.”

They are reliable and will continue to be my go-to for food delivery. Also excellent customer service and custom orders! No ambiance. Not a place to enjoy a romantic evening. If you want fantastic Italian food then this is the place. Chicken piccata and Spaghetti with meat sauce and meat balls were simply the best. Portions are large so we enjoyed for breakfast the next day. Would order take our next time.”
