“Refugio's helped us when our truck went down at Wheeler Ridge. They were able to perform a quick repair so that the truck and trailer could be driven to their shop instead of racking up a costly tow bill. The same mechanic worked on the truck until the repair was completed THE SAME DAY! So much better than the dealerships, they really care about the quality of their work and know how important it is to get the truck back on the road quickly. “Hole in the wall type restaurant off I-5 in Mettler CA has some big rig parking. Really good fried fish (mojarra) the burritos were really BIG so you better be hungry, pretty good salsas too. They also have fresh tamarindo and jamica waters (aguas) and horchata, over all not a bad change of pace from truckstop food.”
