    Covid 19 Testing/Review

    Let’s start from the beginning.

    Making an appointment was a joke!

    I asked around and people were saying that if you wanted to get an appointment you had to log into the cvs site at around midnight or later and that’s when they open available slots, so I did just that. After 3 days of no luck I finally waited till midnight and was a bale to secure a slot for an appointment two days later. Filling out the information online is extremely easy and to the point.

    Remember this is FREE, you do not need to provide any insurance information if you do not want to. You can say you have no insurance and they can no turn you away.

    I got an email confirmation, along with that it comes with step by step instructions. I also got a call the day before from the cvs pharmacy to confirm my information and my appointment, they said to arrive about 15 min before your appointment so if there’s cars in line by the time you make it to the drive through window it should be your appointment slot.

    The day of:
    I arrived 15 min early and there were 3 cars in line but the line moved extremely fast, I saw those cars picking up medication so I assumed they weren’t there for the testing. As you pull up to the drive through window always wear a mask and have your ID ready for verification. The cvs employee is inside and walks you through the full process and ask if you have any questions. They are there watching you from beginning to end.

    Yes You have to perform the procedure yourself. With the detailed instructions I got the package from the window, tilt my head back, inserted no more than one inch into my right nostril and moved it around ( Kinda like using a Qtip in your ear) and then proceeded to do the same thing with the same swab on the left side. The process was extremely EASY & PAINLESS! Don’t let people scare you into thinking it’s more that what it is. Once I was done I packed it all up as instructed and returned it to the box for pickup.

    Easy as that, I’m all done!

    They say waiting time is 5-7 day’s but because cvs is so overwhelmed and behind in testing it can definitely take longer than that, it took 9 days for me to get my results back. It all depends what lab they use to do the testing and obviously all CVS are using the same one so they turn around time is ridiculous.

    To get your results you download the MyChart app or you can also log on the MyChat website and check your results there. You will have to create a profile and they will also send you an email to let you know your results are available to view.
