“The service here is good but Kim makes it excellent she’s the reason why I tolerate going here. She’s very sweet, kind, respectful and she’s always available to help. When a table chair is out of place or a costumer has trash on the table, to if a costumer needs any condiments; Kim is like the superwoman of McDonald’s. I give her a 5 star performance and an extra star for actually enjoying what she does.”

“I really enjoy cook as ordered Filipino food - and this place is perfect! The Bistek with onion rings was really good. It had the perfect combination of onions and tang. I also ordered the sisig rice but had to leave immediately so I packed it to go. I did not get a chance to enjoy it hot - but you know what, it was still very good! Definitely coming back here when I crave “FillFood”. - my term for filling Filipino food ????”

“As you walk into the cheerfully red Deli Counter, you notice the backsplash along the wall: it's a map of LA county, with stars denoting noted sandwich joints like Langer's, Philippe, Bay Cities. Right by the entrance, you then see a stylized C by the section of the 710 fwy, for The Deli Counter itself. The design is at once an homage to legends and an announcement of the shop's aspirations: To be on the top shelf as the other stars on the wall. A buddy of mine and I went for the most popular option, based on the photos attached in Yelp: the DTLA Pastrami. And it did not disappoint. Inches-thick mound of Pastrami laced with Russian slaw and a slightly melting slab of Swiss cheese, wrapped tightly in a French roll. With the Pastrami deliciously warm and the slaw providing a cool, pickled backstop of flavor, the sandwich disappears in a food inhaling instant - along with the attendant chips and drink if you order the combo for $2.50 more. It makes you look up, hankering for more. But take a deep breath, and wait a couple minutes - just as quickly as you ate that sandwich, so will the food coma hit as you realize you just devoured a pretty hefty meal. Shake off the nap, and stumble out the door back to work - And remember to revisit this place when the craving for a sandwich calls your name. Does it live up to its desire to be mentioned in the same breath as the other esteemed sandwich places? If they keep showing that same focus and care, I think it will.”

“Food was amazing. We had BBQ chicken and brisket. Brisket was delicious, melts in your mouth. Mac and cheese was just as good, cornbread was heated and served with melted butter over the top. It appears that everything is homemade, family recipes. But well worth the wait!!!!”

“Quite enjoyed coming here for some pizza and gelato. The gelato flavor selection is amazing, and the pizza is handmade when you order it. I also love these guys for having all types of coffee brewing methods (v60, Chemex, VACUUM POT, cold brew strainer). They also sell a few of these brewing methods in addition to selling a wide assortment of beans that they roast every week (Ethiopia, Colombia, Indonesia to name a few). They sell 12oz bags for $10 each, which is an extremely fair price...my heirloom beans go for $16 per 12oz. Where they lose the star is the actual bean taste; I purchased Ethiopian to test out their roasting, and it fell short of my expectations. Perhaps I had an older batch given to me, but it tasted slightly off. A bit burnt, but I was able to salvage the fruitiness by making Japanese iced coffee with a v60 at home. I plan to come back and purchase a different origin set and see if it was just a first bad impression. Bonus: 15% off for students, seniors, military. Free pizza with purchase on Tuesdays...while supplies last. I couldn't get a free slice late at night.”

“The servers are always so friendly and helpful. I love supporting them. The food is hit or miss at times. I think they changed their fries recipe so sometimes they're good while other times, they leave much to be desired (flavorless, cold, and/or not fully done.... Maybe it depends on the cook that day). But I love the fact that they have vegan options and was pleasantly surprised by their BBQ slaw veggie dog on my last trip.”
