  Looked beautiful from afar so we stop to check it out. It is a beautiful lake

  It was like a great random discovery when we saw it from afar. A gigantic blue water lake surrounded by the mountains!! The view was truly astounding.
  
  BUT I wish I had read the other reviewer’s comment about the leeches before we got into the water.... it is TRUE!!!! The water was full of algae but we still got in up to our waist to cool off the heat. But guess what.... we found tiny LEECHES stuck on our feet and ankles about 10-15 of them at least...!!! We freaked out and wondered if the parents knew about it because there were a lot of kids playing in the water.
  
  Leeches are not known to be harmful I guess, and they were too small I didn’t see any blood. But still, it’s such a gross feeling to have the slimy black creatures get stuck on your skin!!!
  
  This lake is beautiful and gorgeous to look at from distance, but I would think twice about swimming in it.

  Get here early in weekends to stake out a picnic area. Great staff and very clean facilities. This is a great place to go for a swim and BBQ on a hot desert day. $11 parking for the vehicle is a steal for a day's worth of fun and splashing.
