(January 13, 2019, 6:22 am)Arrived late at night, drive up and there's a nice size rest area with a great view of the city lights. The moon was half full and in a picture perfect spot. The water softly reflecting the moon and stars. The moon felt so close you could almost touch it.

Especially when you're out with One Piece At A Time and Friends Of Castaic Lake removing trash, litter.and debris from the shoreline and parking lot area. The air is fresh and clean. There are many activities to enjoy with boating, fishing, camping, hiking or just a picnic throughout the park

Castaic Lake State Recreation Area is a state park unit of California, USA, on the shores of Castaic Lake. It is located in northwestern Los Angeles County near the community of Castaic, north of Santa Clarita. It lies adjacent to the Angeles National Forest.

This northern oasis features two lakes: the Upper Lake which offers two launch ramps for boating with various waterways and coves for exploring and the Lower Lake that includes picnic areas, launch areas for Kayaks, float tubes and other non-gasoline boating, and a swim beach.

32132 Castaic Lake Drive Castaic, CA 91384 661-257-4050 Official Website. I wish we had stayed here for the entire week, though. It is very peaceful and the lake views are nice. We stayed in C17 which is at the very end of the C loop.

Castaic Lake has two bodies of water. Lower lake is for non-power boating and canoeing. Swimming season on lower lake runs from mid-May to mid-September. The recreation area can be reached by exiting Interstate 5 at Hughes Lake Road, 41 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles.
