Jessy at Danish Modern was absolutely outstanding to work with. I deal with a lot of people on a day to day basis, but he is a stands out example of incredible customer service. He made the entire process so collaborative from start to finish so easy and smooth for someone as busy as myself. He brought the items to my home let me try them in my space, offered to pick them up if they didn't work, he made himself easily reachable at all times, offered great advice, and is clearly very well educated and knowledgeable in this area . He was impressive to say the least and quite honestly, he made the process so pleasurable for me that I would buy all my furniture through him if I could.

Fantastic home furnishing store in LA. The store is well-curated, and Jessy and his team have great taste. Jessy was easy to work with and super helpful, which made the shopping experience unforgettable. Plus, their terrific shipping company handled the pieces we ordered with the utmost care. We had a great experience with Jessy and his team at Danish Modern L.A.! We had been searching for a duplicate of a credenza we own so we could create the look of an extra long sideboard. I saw the item online and called - Jessy was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. He answered all of my questions and we had the credenza delivered two days later. Delivery was easy, quick and the team took great care in making sure the piece was properly wrapped, protected etc. Jessy and his team carried in the credenza and got it all set up for us. Payment was easy and Jessy followed up with an informative and detailed email about what oils to order to help us get our original credenza to match the new one (you can see in the photo we still have to finish this!). He even sent adjusters out to us for the legs so they would match exactly - no extra charge and they arrived a couple of days later. Thank you Jessy and Danish Modern L.A. for everything - we love this credenza and it’s a piece we are so glad to have invested in for our home! We look forward to buying from you again!

Danish Modern L.A. more than meets the high standards of those who cherish authentic Mid-Century Modern furniture. If you are interested in buying, you can visit a showroom filled with beautiful pieces. My experience involved having the company restore—to perfection—an original Hans J. Wegner Papa Bear Chair.

The Papa Bear Chair I inherited was looking quite sad, with worn fabric and an uneven wood stain. After weeks of research, it became clear that its refinishing and reupholstery had to be done by a business experienced with original MCM furniture, and ideally with this chair. For one thing, some parts are delicate, like the armrests’ detachable wooden “paws.” But mainly for me, it had to be quality work—to honor Wegner’s artistry and A.P. Stolen’s craftsmanship—and because the chair had belonged to my father. Danish Modern L.A. stood out during my research as one of the most respected companies dealing with original Mid-Century Modern Furniture, not just in L.A., but undoubtedly across the U.S. I knew I came to the right place when I spoke with Jessy, the company’s founder-owner. From him, I learned so much about my chair, Wegner, and Danish furniture. He deeply knows this history.

The Papa Bear’s Chair’s paws were nearly cracked, and even temporarily removing them for refinishing might be difficult. I figured the chair’s upholstery would be most challenging to replicate. Fabric must be smoothly wrapped around its uniquely shaped, winged shoulders, culminating in rolled seams along the edges of the arms and paws. The equally exacting geometry of the backrest’s design includes fabric-covered buttons set between padded and seamed rectangles of cloth. What’s on the inside is also complex, with an entire, hidden architecture of support. Along with new cushioning, I hoped that some older materials could be salvaged. Once the work was done, I was thrilled to learn that the original horsehair stuffing had been tucked back inside.

Today, the chair is stunning, with its teak wood now a rich warm color and new emerald-green fabric. Everything about its renewal is stellar! Thank you to Danish Modern L.A.—to Jessy, and to those who did the refinishing and reupholstery.

"Showroom" is actually a joke of an understatement, because Danish Modern L.A. could more accurately be described as a massive, beautifully curated, world-class museum of Scandinavian mid-century modern furniture and design, WHERE EVERYTHING IS AVAILABLE FOR SALE.

Jessy (co-owner) was a dream to work with on picking out a table for my apartment. Knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to work with me on a couple things, such as delivery to Santa Monica.

My "new" table (a classic 1950s Danish piece in Brazilian rosewood), photographed here, arrived in under a week, absolutely pristine, by Danish Modern L.A.'s own delivery team, who were just as easy to work with as Jessy.

Cannot recommend Danish Modern L.A. *highly enough*. At the very least, go check out their showroom and take a walk through history.
