I recently used Morfin’s Empire for one of my loads out of Los Angeles, CA to Miami, FL. Having been in the Industry for over 10+ years I have heard every sales tactic and attempt story to try to win over my loads. One day I get a call from Alex in dispatch wanting to be set up as one of my prefer carriers. He did his song and dance over the phone, sent me the usual information via e-mail and followed up with a few calls after that. I paid no attention to them. Then one Friday afternoon at 1630 one of the carrier that I was trying out for the first time calls me and tells me he was not going to be able to make his pick up today and that if he was around next Friday he would like to do a pick up for me at a discounted rate since he failed to do his pick-up. I don’t know how many times I told this carrier that the load needed to be up in Miami Monday afternoon or we would lose the business. He completely ignored the fact that we could possibly lose a good account and wanted to give me tips on what to tell my customer Monday morning when he realizes that the load was not going to make it. Upset and fearing for stability of my job, if that load did not arrive on Monday, I immediately called around to see who can pick up the load. But as it was suspected, no one was at the office and the very few carriers/brokers that answered wanted to charge me an arm and a leg to pick it up. One poor guy wanted 3 times the amount I was originally paying and he would guarantee me delivery. I hung up at him, then my phone rang, it was Alex. “Hi, this Alex again from”…. I stopped him and told him “unless your next word is I have a truck for you I don’t want to speak to you”. He took a pause sensing my frustration and asked me, “where is it picking up and delivering?”. “LA to Miami”, I said. He said something in Spanish to one of the girls that works with him and told me with a calm voice, “I can have a team ready for you in 30 minutes if you are willing to stay open late and load them”. I could not believe it!!! The team showed up in my dock in 15 minutes and we proceeded to load him. I told him how important the load was and he assured me that it would be there. He gave me his personal cell and assured me that I can call him any time for status on the load, well I did. I called every four hour for updates. My first call was at 0600 and my last call was at 2000 (Saturday and Sunday) I felt bad calling him on the day he was baptizing his son. He answered every call and text I sent him within minutes with a progress report. The load finally arrived in Miami and Alex called me to confirm the e-mail address to send the POD
I was very impress with the level of service he gave me and continues to give till this day. He is always on time and if there are any unexpected delays he notifies me in advance and already has a solution for me or is working on a solution for me. I have given him about 20 loads now and not 1 has he missed or delivered late. I am so pleased with his work that I told him his rate for this lane is $150 less then what I was paying and told him to make sure the next invoice comes in $200 higher. Alex, and the team at Morfin’s Empire are unreal. We are a small business but Morfin’s Empire treat us like if they are picking up a load for Wal-Mart. I would not think of using any other carrier. Unfortunately they only run LA-NJ and LA-FL back and forth, so I have to use someone else for other loads and hope and pray they make it.
But I will sit hear patiently in my office till the day that Alex calls me again and tells me he now services another part of the US.
Keep up the good work guys. I am honored to call you my carrier and I don’t waste any opportunity to throw your name out there in an effort to make your company grow.
