(January 1, 2019, 10:04 am)The Rancho was dressed for Christmas and it did not disappoint. They had a special tour of the house. A docent was in each room to answer any questions and talk a little of how the Bixby family used the room, bringing the room to life. The Rancho was beautifully decorated for Christmas, but it is lovely to see any time of year. You can also tour the outside buildings.There is an interesting short film about the rancho and a wonderful display for life on the rancho. There are farm animals here, as well. There is a gift shop with a thoughtful inventory and a little something for every budget. For the Christmas celebration, the open house was complete with refreshments. A delightful evening.

(October 10, 2018, 8:43 pm)Great place to spend the day. The tour is worth the wait, and the staff is very friendly. I was surprised something like this existed right in the middle of Long Beach. They have something for everyone. If you like history, you’ll be thrilled. If you like walking through beautiful gardens, they have several for you to spend the day walking through. They usually have horses although they weren’t there on the days I toured unfortunately. He house itself is quite interesting and beautiful, however you have to go in a tour with a group. No matter what you like I think you will have a great day if you tour this ranch.

(August 2, 2018, 8:55 pm)Can't believe this place is free! Perfect little respite from the urban hustle and such a great place to bring kids. There is a large lawn area to run around and picnic. There are goats, sheep, ducks, rabbits, and chickens. There is a beautiful garden that feels like a trip back in time. Love it!
