  I popped into Gems and Jewels with a friend to have a watch battery replaced and immediately became entranced by the interesting selection of pieces--traditional, antique and artisan. I don't often frequent such jewelry shops because I usually feel evaluated by smug, bejeweled clerks based on the way I'm dressed and the jewelry I'm wearing. Here, we were warmly greeted by Nuket Karagulle who took very seriously our questions about the stones in a bracelet my friend had with her. As they were chatting, I perused the cases and was taken with a number of pieces. I bought the little number pictured and haven't taken it off since. Nakut had French cafe music playing and made our time there fun and relaxed. Shopping locally owned, independent stores is what will ensure Long Beach remains the interesting city it is!

  The staff here is so friendly and knowledgeable. Eric helped me to repair a necklace and to solder my wedding rings together. They did amazing work on both pieces and were actually able to save the original clasp on the necklace.

  I always appreciate the work and trust in having Gems & Jewels repair my jewelry or add to my collection. They have fabulous estate pieces besides the ability to make whatever design you want or help you design something from scratch. I travel from Torrance to their Long Beach store, that’s how great I think they are!!!!

  I recently asked Gems and Jewels to adjust my wedding ring to a smaller size. They were extremely prompt and their customer service was great. I then purchased a ring from them for my upcoming anniversary. They were helpful, kind, and efficient throughout each interaction. They also had a great inventory of rings in a wide array of styles. I would recommend them to anyone for cleanings, adjustments, or purchases!
