Strut Bridal Salon

I shopped for a gown in January 2022 for my October 2022 elopement. I had been to two other bridal salons the previous week and had found a dress I really liked, but decided to go to a third store just in case. Needless to say, I did not go back for the that other dress.

According to Strut Bridal Salon’s website their dresses are $1,299 to $3,800. My budget was ~$1,400 and they had many beautiful options within that budget.

They had great reviews and I loved that they’re inclusive to all genders, body types, and personal styles. They carry up to size 38 and wedding dresses in black and other colors. My consultant Ashley was attentive when listening to my likes, dislikes, and the plan for my elopement, and she thoughtfully pulled the perfect dress for me after only a few dresses. It had everything I was looking for, and the sample was in my size! I’m a street size 4 or 6 — not a typical sample size. This was the only store that carried samples smaller and larger than the standard sample size. It was a nice change because the other shops had to use clamps and ties on everyone, because most people are not a sample size. I was able to purchase the sample that day! And I got to use the $200 off promotion since it was my first time at their salon. Normally you order it in your size and wait months for the dress to arrive, so I wasn’t expecting to need to store my new dress that day. Luckily they have several packages, so I chose a package that included storage at their location. I didn’t have any guests, but my package also gave me a discount on other formal ware purchases, if you’re someone who needs bridesmaids dresses or dresses for your parents.

They offer a “Reveal Appointment” where you can bring friends and family to show off the dress you purchased, which was a lot of fun for my loved ones. OR if you’re concerned about family being upset that you purchased a dress without them, talk to your consultant because they have a plan for that too.

They recommended Folklore Dress Studio for alterations, and she made my already gorgeous gown fit like a glove. In November after the wedding was over, I dropped off my dress at Strut for dry cleaning (my package included a discount on dry cleaning/dress preservation), and I was truly sad that my dress experience was over! After nearly a whole year of visits and phone conversations, I’ve only had excellent experiences with all their staff members.

Working with Strut was the most fun part of the entire wedding planning process. The consultants are so supportive and professional. My husband and I chose to elope with no guests for an stress-free day, and Strut ensured I enjoyed all the fun parts of being a bride!

I feel like I never really write reviews even when the service is amazing but I know I definitely wanted to give Strut Bridal and particular my stylist, Ariana, a huge shoutout!

Since getting engaged a few months ago, I constantly went back and forth between wanting to buy a nontraditional wedding dress online and having the experience of trying on dresses at a bridal shop. I decided to go with the latter with no intention of 100% buying a dress that day. I specifically picked Strut because, being a plus-sized woman, I of course was scared to just waltz into any old bridal shop not knowing if they even would have sample sizes that fit me. Strut was always recommended in wedding Facebook groups I’m in and had amazing reviews so I did it! I did go to one bridal salon in Los Angeles a few days earlier with most of my bridesmaids and I loved it! They also had plenty of plus sizes with nice styles, but I didn’t find anything I absolutely wanted though. I went to Strut a few days later with my mom, my (half)sister, and my niece (also one of my bridesmaids) expecting the same thing: that I was just going to try on dresses for fun and to see what looks nice on me but not actually commit to anything.

Ariana was soooo nice and helpful from the get-go: she was very friendly to me and my family and nonjudgmental towards us as well. It turned out that the very first dress I tried on I ended up saying YES to!!! It was an unexpected surprise. I could tell Ariana did the magical salesperson question of asking me why I was initially hesitant to put a deposit down on the first dress if I loved it and my family did as well. She explained that I could put at least 25% down and other financial options. Luckily, my family was able to help me out with that, which I was not expecting either. She further explained the ease of the payment process, wait time, measurements, alterations, everything. Everything fell into place and I’m so glad. I even got to hold up the sign!

I had a bridal appointment with Strut on Mother's Day and to my surprise had the whole store to myself and my bridesmaids. I am a plus size bride and it's quite difficult to find a bridal store that could accommodate my size so I love that Strut is so inclusive with its sizing.

Ariana was my stylist that day and she was amazing. This was my 2nd time trying on wedding dresses and knew what kind of style I liked and looked good on my body. I was not expecting to find THE Dress, but Ariana pulled the most perfect dress for me after about 3 dresses in. She was so professional, knowledgeable, and kind throughout the whole process. I was able to try on veils, capes, and accessories with my gown and really picture the whole look. She made me feel so confident in all the dresses I tried on, even if it wasn't my size.

After saying yes to the dress, Ariana walked me through the ordering process. I put 50% down to order the dress and the rest would be due when the dress arrives in November. (My wedding date is May 2023)

I would definitely recommend Strut to any bride. They have tons of styles AND inclusive sizing.

I went to Strut yesterday not intending to purchase a dress, but instead to create a special moment with myself and some long-distance family. I informed them of this when I made the appointment and, even though they were not anticipating a sale, they made my time there so very special! I knew next to nothing about shopping for a wedding dress when I went in, but Ariana was so wonderful, taking the time to talk with me about what the dress selection process involves and having a real conversation with me about what kind of things I love in a dress, what I absolutely do not want in a dress, and what my realistic budget is. Then she stepped away for a moment and came back with an armful of dresses that were not only stunningly beautiful, but all of which could be worn by a bride MY size!
As someone who typically falls around a standard size 4X(26W), I can’t tell you how incredible it was for me to be able to put on sample sizes that not only fit me, but that would also fit brides who wear several sizes beyond my own. It was so moving to be in a space that didn’t exist to judge or exclude bodies like mine, but instead to celebrate them and to highlight and show off what makes them beautiful!
Ariana was so kind, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable, and she made my dress appointment a magical experience for me and my family (both there and over video call). She made it so fun and special for all of us, and I am so very grateful to her and the Strut team for everything that they did for us.
Despite my intentions, I DID end up finding THE dress, and Ariana was also so helpful in explaining the ordering process, including everything from taking my measurements, to storing my dress, to what the alteration process will look like when I’m ready for it.

I came in for a 45 min initial bridal consult (only trying on 3 different dresses to see what type of style I like) and came out 1.5 hours later with my DREAM dress. Ariana, my bridal consultant, was so patient with me on trying on different styles and really made it an enjoyable experience. She was ok to go beyond our appointment time since my wedding was soon and we needed to get it ordered ASAP. Highly recommend this place for everyone!
