When choosing a doctor, there are a few important aspects about both the doctor your own situation, that should be considered. I considered those aspects...deeply.

Dr. Benavidez was recommended by a long time friend. Without going into my own personal story, I'll just say that seeking a professional beyond a physical ailment, is not generally valued in the Black community. We are, especially Black women, supposed to be strong and able to lift tall buildings in a single bound. Well, many of us can't. We're just human, in a society where 'just human' is not always good enough. Letting our guards down can be...difficult. Well, thank goodness for Dr. Benavidez for not just seeing me, but for helping to ensure that I could clearly see myself.

I am thankful for Dr. Benavidez. I am thankful that a professional, compassionate, wise, and empathetic doctor exists at a time when such qualities are sorely lacking. I recommend Dr. Benavidez for her many professional qualities, the strongest being her integrity.

Dr.Benavidez has volunteered her services to my non profit which outreached teen mothers for the past 3 years. She is a highly skilled practitioner who relates well to young adults and children. Her warmth when dealing with a marginalized population is exemplary and is the basis of her success in assisting them deal with the challenges they face. The testing of youth she provides is also a testimony to her commitment as a practitioner to helping youth realize their potential. My recommendation is enthusiastic and unequivocal.
