I found Dr. Hertzog to be very straight forward and consise with his explanation of the concerns I was having about my eyes. I listened to the options that he told me about. I took his advice as what to do and I’m glad I did. I had him perform surgery and it was very successful. I can now see to drive at night.
Along with Dr. Hertzogs pleasantness, his whole staff is very accommodating, friendly and helpful.

At age 75, a growing cataract in my left eye had become intolerable. I went to the Hertzog Eye Care center in Long Beach and was examined by a very professional and efficient staff.
I was further examined and consulted with Leif M. Hertzog, M.D. After discussing my condition he recommended the “Vivity extended Depth of Focus Lens.”
The surgery was completed at “Surgery Center of Long Beach,” which is located across the street from Memorial Hospital on Atlantic Avenue in Long Beach. The staff at the Surgery Center was also very competent and professional. Doctor Leif Hertzog performed the surgery. I was awake the entire time and did not experience any pain or discomfort.
During the surgery Dr. Herzog kept me advised of the progress.
I am very pleased with the results. The Vivity lens is more than I had hoped for. I would strongly recommend the Hertzog Eye Care center to anyone needing this procedure.
