L-O-V-E this place! Beautiful views of LA as well as the gorgeous architecture of the museum itself. There is also,of course, amazing artwork and exhibits. We went around sunset on a Saturday and was pleasantly surprised that it is open later on Saturdays. And if you go later, there are discounts on parking, which is the only fee to pay. It is a fun spot to wander and enjoy art, meet up with friends/family, or cozy up to a hot date.
The museum is a little remote from downtown LA, but definitely worth the journey. The tram ride up the hill to the entry is unlike any other—a fun little experience. The museum offers a lot of great art and really pleasant outdoor spaces to sit and relax. The cafe options were pretty limited when I visited, and beset by long lines. But I was willing to take my time and enjoy the experience. It was worth it.
I love this FREE art museum! The architecture, garden, and grounds are beautiful, and that is just the beginning. Once you enter the museum, the amount of spectacular paintings, sculptures, and other art pieces is just amazing! I went here for a birthday trip with friends, and it was perfect. If you have the chance, go! It was such an amazing experience and I can't wait to go back. ♥️????
The Getty Art Museum is an art piece itself. If you are planning a visit do not short change yourself with time. The grounds are magnificent. There are breathtaking views everywhere. And the architecture has as many ways to view it as do the art pieces themselves. Even a whole day there will leave you wanting more. Parking is in the structure at the bottom of the hill the Getty sits on. From there you can walk an easy mile up or catch a free tram to the top. They run all day. Getty generously shared his collection with the public after his death. We are so much richer for his generosity. Be sure and stay for the sunset at the end of the day.

(310) 440-7300. The Getty is such a beautiful day to spend a day at -- rain or shine. I would recommend coming here for the architecture and the views. Personally, the art collection here isn't the best (primarily European paintings) but there are some paintings and art pieces worth looking at.
