(October 21, 2018, 9:21 am)This historic park is truly unique. I grew up here and never knew about stage road that went through town. The stage road itself is about a 2 mile hike through the park. You can see the wheel ruts in the rocks. To walk up Devils Slide and think a stage coach drove it is amazing. Brochures on 3 entrances to the park tell a lot about it. I do have a few pictures but not currently available.

(April 27, 2018, 10:22 pm)The hillside terrain of Santa Susana State Park is amazing. It remains in it's natural state except for the foot paths left by hikers and the graffiti left by youthful taggers, brave enough to navigate the steep hillside. Still.. A very nice place for an afternoon hike while still within the Chatsworth City limits of the bustling San Fernando Valley.

(March 9, 2018, 9:17 pm)Very nice historical park. It is mostly unimproved, with little amenities, but plenty of trails. Historically the original Stagecoach Trail runs along a portion of Lilac Lane and to the east and west. To the east is the 'Devils Slide' a portion of the trail that was most difficult, and riders would have to get out of the stagecoach and walk up the trail behind the horses and coach.
In between the old Stagecoach Trail and the Santa Susana Pass, there is the Santa Susana Grade Road, which was only used for about 10 years. Portions can still be seen to the South along the SS Pass.
