A wonderful public place where many many movies were filmed from westerns to b grade scifi. Lassie and The Lone Ranger both were filmed here.

Sacred ground of a moment of time intended to be eternal, but smashed into dust and scattered around the world in the winds; from Topanga Canyon to the deserts of the coyote. A tiny little remnant of land in-between the concrete, electric hum and high speed motion of the valley and the city. There's soul here. A moment can last hours, if indeed it can be found again - because those moments at the ranch existed long ago, in another dimension. Gone are the buildings, trucks, horses, fun, and friendship; novelty stand in their place. Below the feet of tourists lay buried the truth of the lives that were robbed of their youth, wonder, awe and magic by the media, courts, prisons, books, movies and dollars. There was no "Manson Family"... but there was family, even if only the rocks of the dry creek bed remember it.

Spent many countless hours hiking I'm climbing throughout the mountains here! Great place to spend the day hiking on the old historic Santa Susana stage route and Scenic Trails throughout the mountains! Great Vistas! Saw a mountain lion in the wild here!
Lots of rock formations many of which you can climb on and enjoy the vistas!
Several caves in the area!
May even see some interesting carvings and some of the rocks done by none other than the Manson family!

Historic movie ranch and place where Charles Manson and friends stayed during the infamous summer of love. The structures of the movie ranch have been bulldozed. Great hiking to be had. Location of the famous Time photo of the Manson Family in the cave.
