Cello Lessons Los Angeles with Helen Belangie

I’m an older student who has been learning cello for several years, and have been to several different instructors. It’s been a bit challenging because I’m missing a couple finger ends on the left hand, which requires additional patience and encouragement from the instructor. I found that with Helen !
She’s enthusiastic about this beautiful instrument, and it’s contagious! There’s no pressure- you’ll feel at ease while you’re learning, and she makes the experience fun and exciting

Helen has been my daughters cello teacher for 8 years. We found her when my daughter was in the 4th and we realized she'd never learn much from a public school orchestra teacher in charge of 40 kids once a week. She's now a senior and plays beautifully.
Helen has taught our daughter once a week all these years. Has helped us transition from the grade school loaner to a rental and finally buying her own cello.
Helen is a wonderful teacher for any age. She is patient, encouraging and her exuberance and joy is infecting. She's also a wonderful person and hope she will always be in our life as a friend and teacher.

I've been studying cello with Helen for over 5 years now and I couldn't be happier. She is an incredible cello teacher, an incredible pedagogue, and a fun, wonderful, sensitive, and compassionate person. I am one of Helen's adult students. She's obviously great with her younger students (who comprise the bulk of her students) but she's no less wonderful with her adult students. She makes everything about studying an instrument, and music in general better, deeper, and more fun. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She is the best!
