Great part of the historic LA that you should see. The tour is not expensive or too long. They're very informative and fun. Interesting facts
I came to Cemetery lane and it was brilliant! The costumes, the decorations, the overall ambiance. AMAZING!! And the folks working really made the experience special. Kids or no, this is a must do for every Angelino!
I took the guided tour that takes you inside 4 of the original Victorian houses. Inside is very beautifully decorated with period correct furniture and numerous other bits. Like books, paintings, chandeliers, and wood stoves. It really takes you back to 19th century when you're inside.
I was really surprised how small everything is compared to modern layouts of houses. Heritage square museum has the most luxury house on display then a midrange house and a average house from the Victorian era. So you can really see the difference.
There's also a farm house on display that was originally in Pasadena on a orange 🍊 farm, it's in the shape of a octagon for better ventilation. And a reproduction of a drug store that was full of everything you'd imagine to see in a pharmacy a 100 years ago.
The tour was really nice, it was a group of 10 and I strongly recommend purchasing tickets for it in advance. Like I almost had to wait until the 3 o'clock tour lol but then a really nice lady that came to visit helped me out and I was able to get in at 12.
It's well worth the $18.60 for the inside tour too bad no pictures inside but they did have free parking at the end of the culdesac... A small gravel lot.
The Heritage square museum has Old Victorian homes that were saved from demolition. This location has one of the most complete compound pharmacies on the West Coast, and a great experience on Halloween! Also word has it, some of the houses are haunted.
Great place to visit. There is a guided tour with admission. I bought my ticket on site. There is a parking lot just before the museum. Please check out the tour schedule before you go, hours and days may differ.
