I’ve healed my chronic pain with my mind!
And you can too! I have suffered from low back pain on and off for several years. Usually, it was something that would go away after some rest, yoga, and time. However, about two years ago my pain become chronic – to the point that I couldn’t sleep through the night for several months. It hurt to stand, sit, transition from standing to sitting, rolling over – basically it hurt all of the time doing any activity. It made my life a nightmare. I couldn’t travel, work, or do much else. I was stressed out, never sleeping and the pain seamed to grow, initially at my lower back, then my entire back and up and down my legs. I tried everything! And I spent so much money on doctor visits, medication, chiropractors, acupuncture, yoga, etc. They would all give me temporary relief, but then the pain would come right back again. My chiropractor thought it was odd that someone my age (under 40) was suffering so much so he suggested I get X-rays and it was determined that I may have suffered a herniated disc some time ago and I had degenerative disc between a couple of my vertebrae. After more time with the chiropractor, he still thought it was odd that I was in so much pain but I couldn’t figure out what the solution could be.
Then my gym, Everybody, hosted a free workshop on chronic with Dr. Michael Aquino that I decided to go to. During the event I never felt so seen and I held back tears as I listened to him describe my exact situation and how pain in the brain works and what we can do to ease pain. I immediately felt a little better and for the first time I slept through the night, after listening to one session. I decided to spend some money as a final attempt to control my pain. IT WAS THE BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT and would spend double all over again. Dr. Aquino is amazing! He made me feel safe and not like I was “crazy” for having unexplainable chronic pain. In fact, he explained to me exactly how my pain worked and where it was coming from and came up with a simple plan and exercises to help me eventually “cure” myself. I still have some pain from time to time, and if I exert myself I know that I will pay for it later. However, now I have the tools I need to “reset” the pain in my brain and calm down a flair up. I am most proud of being able to sleep through the night again, my mood is back to my best self, I can travel, and after only a couple of months I was able to start working out again which has only helped make myself stronger. The best money I ever spent. I can’t recommend him enough. My favorite thing is telling people that “I cured my back with my mind!” Thanks Dr. Aquino!
Dr Aquino was very helpful and patient. He explained everything so I could understand what I was experiencing in my body and why the exercises he gave me would help.
