  After a traumatic childhood experience, and then having a mother that never went beyond the seashore, I developed a phobia of open water (sea, lake, ocean, any depth where I couldn't feel the ground), and became an adult that couldn't swim effectively.And it is a shame, because I'm from the Caribbean, a place where there are abundant and beautiful beaches. This year, I decided to change all of that. I travel often, and wanted to truly be able to enjoy myself at all the wonderful locales that I visit.
  
  I shared all of this with Treci, the first time that we talked, and she realized that what I needed was a safe space to learn, patience, and reassurance that I could actually learn how to swim. After just a few short classes, I actually learned the basic mechanics of swimming, and felt like a toddler learning how to walk, and every time that I stumbled, Treci was there to assist, or sometimes just observe, as I readjusted and learned to figure it out myself. I look forward to continuing with my classes and one day becoming an expert and confident swimmer.

  I had been wanting to learn how to swim for many years. I took classes at Pierce a few years back but I didn’t get the attention I needed to learn. I have been afraid of water all my life, but I wanted to face my fear and finally have fun swimming with my family. What I love the most about this place is the privacy of the pool. All the instructors taught me different tips to swim better. After three months of swimming leasson I can say that I swim. I still need to practice and continue to battle my fear of water but I can now enjoy the pool with my family. Thank you Treci, Jose and Meg, you are all great instructors. I will miss swimming with you guys.

  Treci is patient and kind, exactly the kind of person you want to learn from as an adult or trust to care for your children. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. After a month you begin to feel like a member of the swim family. Surroundings are private and peaceful. The serene atmosphere with the waterfalls and music make it the perfect environment for relaxing in order to learn how to swim. The pool is always a comfortable temperature, even early morning, which makes me look forward to this winter.
