Picca

In October 2013, there was a gentleman just being absolutely obnoxious and taking over the entire community table. He was eating from other people’s plates and taking dibs on seats. At one point he stuck a whole filet of fish with the skin in his mouth. 5/5 highly recommended.

I have never tasted food anywhere in the world that was as good as this. When I think of my favorite dinning experience in my life, I go back to Picca every time. They had this steak in uni butter that probably was the single best bite of meat I have ever had. It was ridiculous. And there pana cotta was without a doubt the best I have ever had. WOW! Was it perfect? Well.... no. This is like a testing menu in my opinion. I left wanting more food in me... I was still a little hungry. So is this a place you go to all the time when you want to eat. Probably not. Its a place to go to experience and feel things you have never never felt before. It's like disney land for your taste buds. I mean we all like the Magic Kingdom, but after a week with the kids, you just want to go home and eat cereal. That being said, I want Picca again right now.

Picca is the best restaurant I visited this year! Peruvian and Japanese fusion is the most exotic cuisine I've had! So, my cousin came into town and wanted to try a new restaurant so we ended up at Picca. My first impression walking in was wow, this is a romantic spot for a date. It's dark, candle lit, and very intimate. We had a few items on the menu that were all very satisfying and I could't stop indulging on the food. The portions are small like tapas style but it's perfect because you can enjoy a variety of quality food over quantity.

We had the
CEVICHE CRIOLLO Seabass, rocoto, canchas which was not your typical ceviche dish. It was sushi cevich! Yah!

ANTICUCHO BLACK COD miso anticucho, crispy sweet potato, delicious but small portion.

CHORITOS black mussels, smoked bacon, aji amarillo, this was delicious with dipping sauce to die for!

ARROZ CON ERIZO peruvian paella, seafood medley, sea urchin sauce, ok I DIE! This was amazingly tasty with sea urchin sauce kicker!

We had other sushi dishes as well.

And I had the avocado cocktail, forgot the name but it's a must try!

To top it off with a great dinner, we also sat next to Pau Gasol!!! He was the most friendliest and awesome guy! I got to meet him while debating back and forth with my cousin if we should bother him while he's having dinner. We wanted a picture with him but we knew it will cause a scene in the dark romantic ambiance.

The only complaint we had was our waiter was a bit rude and he was not as attentive as we hoped. We asked for bread and he never got back to us so we had to ask another waiter. Granted, the night we went was a bit busy but thatls no excuse.

Overall, dinner was amazing and seeing Pau Gasol was wonderful! I would go back but on a date!

Restroom was upstairs. Parking - there's valet or park over at Ralphs and go buy something.
