  Since my car is older I pay more for smog checks but $80 seemed fair comparing rates in the area. I drove in on Monday morning around 9am and was the first customer of the day. Everyone was rather quiet yet polite and professional. My van was being tested within 5 minutes of arrival. David performed the test and took care to make sure the motor was warmed up and in ideal condition to pass the first time around. The test took less than 5 minutes to complete. Then David checked the engine to ensure all the smog equipment was present and correct for the motor. He even examined the gas cap. After punching in all the data into the computer he handed me a completed smog test. I paid $80 and left within 20 minutes of pulling up. A+ experience!

  These guys are good and honest. Been going to them for a few years now and don’t feel the need to go anywhere else.

  I HAVE BEEN GOING TO THIS MECHANIC FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW. AND IT IS THEY ARE HONEST AND THEY WILL TELL YOU IF IT'S WORTH FIXING OR NOT. THEY SAVED ME THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN REPAIRS. I LOVE THEM ????????????

  I have been taking my Cars to Gary and Joe for almost two decades now and have always had better than dealership Service performed on my cars. Here are just a few examples of their awesome customer service and car care. I am a Subaru nut/ collector and Gary was able to diagnose my 1989 XT6 when the local Subaru Service told me they couldn't work on it because they no longer carried the service manuals. It was a blown fuse and a short in the wiring which Hollywood Automotive fixed in less than an afternoon.
  I took my 2009 Impreza to them for an engine Exchange when my original engine went bad a month after the extended warranty expired. West Hollywood Automotive installed the new engine and cleaned it up to look and even smell brand new! BETTER THAN SUBARU FACTORY INSTALL WHEN BRAND NEW!! Totally impressed and in awe of their work. The engine was a dirty rusty mess when they got it delivered from the company I bought it from. They switched in my intake assembly and made the engine sparkle. Wow! They even advised me to change the timing belt and the clutch since we had it cracked open anyway. Saved me at least $500 in labor had I done them separately and speaks to the specialized car care they embody. Not going to divulge the total price because I dont want them to raise their prices, but I can assure you the one thing it wont cost you is Piece of Mind! They do what you want a mechanic to do. Care for the mechanical integrity of the car with an understanding of how that care may effect other systems, as well as your budget. I am an amatuer mechanic and always appreciate their ability to impress me with their work.

  My family and I have been customers for almost 30 years!! Joe and Gary have serviced our (many) cars as the years go by, and also my mom's car when she was alive. Now, their children are grown and part of the business. They are always reliable, accommodating, fair and HONEST!!! They have given us services at no charge and are like family to us. When they repair or replace anything, you know the job has been done right!! Safety first!!
