  Beautiful place to view nature. Make sure you have a bottle of water and prepare yourself for an afternoon of waking trails through the magnificent Santa Monica Canyon’s. Wholesome family fun at its best. Five stars! I used to frequent the Canyon when I was under 30 and then I moved to the city (Santa Monica Cyn) and became busy.

  Easy hike. Home ruins from the 1950s and before. It's more of a creek.

  Superb hike for beginners. I did this hike after 20 years and survived. Its not more than an hours hike, but based on your physical capabilities and fitness it may vary. But its not at all difficult. I gave 4 stars only because of parking. If reach there early you might find a parking spot, but if you are late tou might havs to park on the narrow street..

  Easily one of my favorite hikes. About half of it is covered by trees to keep you cool. Love walking through the burnt down mansions.
  
  The second leg of the hike is up a steep mountain directly in the sun. Bring water and enjoy!

  Upon entering there is parking to the right. 6 spaces I believe? There is additional parking if you drive further in. I arrived early so I had no problem with parking. A friend recommended that I visit so being that I was at Mugu Rock earlier I figured I would make a stop on way home.
  There are various hiking trails. I chose the Rising Sun Trail. At first I asked myself "what was I thinking"? As you can see I was quite the shutter bug. I was on my own but I suggest hiking with a partner if possible.
  Take in the views and make new friends if you're into that. Since this Trail is more challenging you won't run into too many people. I enjoyed the calmness and will return as soon as my aching body recovers :)
