(June 16, 2018, 8:25 pm)Best time to hike these trails is in spring after it rains when the grass is green and moist, the air is foggy and fresh, and the path ascends nearly two thousand feet past old abandoned missile silos and wild life rarely seen at once in the LA area ... deer, wild horses, longhorn sheep, snakes, bobcats ... leading to spectacular mountain peaks overlooking the entire San Fernando Valley all the way to the ocean!

(February 13, 2018, 6:48 pm)Parking at the trailhead requires a MRCA $5 fee. This road is paved the whole way to the gate on private property. Kind of bucolic with cows and steers with the wide open vistas and beautiful oak trees it is worth a trip on a clear day
