My friends took me to this restaurant for the first time. The food was good. We ordered the typical ones. The flavor was typical Japanese ramen. It was fresh, not too much ingredients but really delicious. Minus was the thin meat and little topping. The restaurant is close to our college so it’s always crowded.
Good local ramen. The Josui ramen has quite the strong fish flavor despite the description sounding very light. The noodles were cooked just right. The miso ramen was good although the miso overpowers anything that may have resembled the original broth flavor. The ramen egg was ok, not as flavorful or runny as others. The chicken karaage batter was quite light, like tempura but light on flavor.
Service was fast. The ambiance was very cozy and felt authentic
My favorite ramen in LA county.
I wanted for about 30 minutes to have a seat.
I guess Japanese people like this ramen because it's not too fatty and strong.
My recommendation is Josui ramen.
Chicken karaage is good as well.
🇯🇵 JAPAN (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - The namesake Josui ramen ($10.80) has the pork and chicken stock the shop is recognized for, and is almost always the bowl underneath the customers who come to solo slurp. This is a good indication that it should be your starting point on the menu, despite its very simple look and presentation. Plenty of extras are listed on the menu if you desire, but the bowl without additional toppings is just as good as anything.
