(January 24, 2016, 2:38 am)For the last several years while my wife and I have lived in Southern California, we have had the privilege of calling this little church our home.
This western rite parish works hard to 1) stay within the wings of the faith of the canonical eastern orthodox church whilst 2) preserving the customs of the western church throughout time.
My own exploration of the orthodox Christian faith has been greatly impacted by this effort: bringing into sharper focus the truth of the gospel of Christ and how that same truth can be celebrated across a much broader set of customs than I had previously realized.
If that was too much of a mouthful to follow, come join us on Sunday for Divine Liturgy (as called in the east) or Mass (as called in the west) followed by lunch, as our guest.
