“It's been awhile since I've had a real quality burger. I almost forgot how satisfying they can be. The Fire Belly burger was pretty great. The potato bun, pickled Thai chilies and the arugula were perfect but the absolute star was the burger patty. It was cooked to a nice medium and I could tell that it was hand formed since it was not one of those overworked compacted beef pucks you get at a fast food burger place. The Pig N Fries were crispy, well seasoned and hot. The bacon, ranch and green onions on top just took this side above and beyond your regular side of fries. My girlfriend had the Cali Burger. It looked delicious as well. She really enjoyed it and said she would definitely want to come back to try a few more items on the menu.”

“Came for lunch on a Friday. Plenty of seating inside and out. We were there with a large group, kids included. The seating outside under the shade sails was great because the kids could move and play. Server was good and handled a large food order and a variety of drink orders well. The food was above expectations and left everyone satisfied and happy. Nachos were great, garlic fries, barbacoa fries (and even the regular) were great. Burgers, tacos, and the all veggie sandwich - great. Everyone that drank enjoyed their beers. We were there for at least two hours and never felt rushed to leave. Great place.”

“Food is good. The Chinese chicken salad and the gyro salad are family favorites. I recommend ordering a salad for two and getting extra protein. The salads are huge with a lot of lettuce. For the price I’d either like less lettuce and more meat for the same price or less lettuce and less expensive. Price is high for a lot of lettuce. I've found that the salads are over dressed, so ask for the salad lightly tossed or dressing on the side. Overall, the flavor is yummy. The gyro meat is really good.”

“I have been out of state for 25 years and I am visiting for Christmas and had to check out my Sharky's. Better than I even remember. That fire roasted salsa is to due for. My niece got their nachos and it is definitely a wow factor. The tortillas are so tender and fresh, yet hold all the ingredients in place inside my burrito. The decor is updated and inviting and they even have a bar with taps of craft beer. Definitely check it out if you haven't been or visit again if it's been awhile. You won't be disappointed!!”

“Topside by NDMK is a wonderful new addition to the Avalon dining scene. I visited about 3-4 weeks after they opened and overall had a really nice experience. The location on the top deck is open, breezy and provides some beautiful views. It's a great spot for a relaxing meal. The food was excellent - we tried the seafood risotto and chicken piccata and both were delicious. The risotto was creamy and flavorful with a variety of fresh seafood. The chicken was perfectly cooked with a tasty lemon caper sauce (I loved the addition of edible flowers and microgreens). While the food was great, the service was slow considering there weren't many other customers in the restaurant. It took quite a while just to get our drink order and to place our food order despite ample staff. I understand they just opened and are likely still working out some kinks in the service. Overall I would definitely recommend Topside and look forward to returning. Once they smooth out some of the service issues, I could easily see this being a 5 star dining experience. For now, the delicious food and beautiful location earn them 4 stars in my book. With a little more time to find their groove, Topside will be one of the top restaurants in Avalon.”

Located on Honolulu in the heart of Montrose just west of Ocean View on the north side. The restaurant def has a vibe and consistent theme. Outdoor seating as well. Very friendly, and kind staff. Pizza was made fresh and quickly (less than 15 min.). Metered Parking is available out front…but is usually pretty packed. There is a bank lot across the street that can be used off bank hours. We got the pepperoni cup speciality (onions and garlic), and the veggie lovers; both on one crust! We got the 18 inch to go, and it was about $36 with tip and tax.”
