“1/13/23: The waitress recommended the sushi in particular here (as opposed to the rolls) and she was right. The chu-toro sushi was extraordinary and the halibut was a close second. Also ordered the Lemon Roll and the Crunchy Vegas Roll which were decent but not in the same league as the sushi. I also had the Japanese sponge cake which was good but a bit small in portion. Next time, I'd order the sushi only. 3/4/23: Sat at the bar instead of a table this time (highly recommend the bar so you can watch the chefs) and had the "assorted tempura" (4.25*) and these sushi: Striped mackerel 4.5* Chu toro 4.75* Black cod 4.75* Aburi salmon 4.75* Sawara 4.5* Red snapper 4.75* Sweet corn tempura sushi 4.25*”

“Solid experience at Ramen Shack Takumiya. We came in during very late hours and they were kind enough to seat us and attend to us. This was one of the very rare locations that were open on a Holiday. We were greeted and seated promptly by our waiter and we were served our meals very swiftly. The food was very delicious and the meal that stuck out to me the most was definitely the spam musubi. I would definitely come back to this location as they were very friendly and open till late hours during the Holidays. Highly recommend.”

“Large portions (big enough to share with two people) and perfectly cooked, delicious food! We got the “Eggs and Sam” to share which is pesto scrambled egg with salmon on the side and lots of extras (roasted potatoes, fresh fruit, choice of toast). My partner and I ordered this with two coffee drinks and a green smoothie and both left very full and satisfied. The wild salmon was JUICY and tender - wayyy better cooked than expected for a casual cafe! The roasted potatoes were also crispy and the green smoothie was also thick, freshly made, and delicious. We also ordered a vanilla latte and a cappuccino - I am more picky about coffee, but to my taste the espresso drinks were lacking in flavor and consistency. The milk foam on the latte was decent but the foam on the cappuccino was chunky with large bubbles and definitely not the silky microfoam texture it is supposed to be. But all in all, the quality breakfast was worth it and I should probably not compare the coffee to a dedicated coffee shop. I had been at the Armandie bakery down the street for breakfast the week before and it was a much lower quality breakfast than the food served here. I’ll definitely be coming back!”
