Stinson Beach

Fantastic day for my family. Beautiful weather for a December weekend on a great beach. Only complaint is that all but one restroom was closed with notice of that fact until you walked to the building.

We took our dog to the beach for the first time. The main beach is not dog friendly, however to the right is the dog friendly area where your pup can play along the water on the beach. My lil guy had a great time!

Stinson’s white sand and oceanfront make it one of the best swimming beaches in northern California—not to mention a favorite surfing, picnicking, and volleyball spot. The best times of year for surfing are winter and spring. For windsurfers, the prevailing northwesterly winds blow best in the afternoon. The summer surf is most suitable for rafters and body-boarders.

The adjacent town of Stinson Beach offers several restaurants, a small grocery store, and a handful of shops. Stinson Beach has an extensive picnic area complete with tables and barbecues

You're not gonna get a beach this good this far north in California WITH lifeguards on duty.

Look, the water isn't perfect. It's not the clearest or the warmest, it isn'tas beautiful as Drake's Beach at Point Reyes, and it's definitely not the most accessible one in the state, but it's still a great beach.

Come out with some friends, family, or a significant other that aren't afraid of some chilly water, and swim away. The same is great, and there is plenty of space to set up a volleyball court and enjoy a nice game with some friends, or maybe battle the surf and enjoy the sweet taste of salt in your lips.

The point is, it's not perfect, but all things considered, it's a fantastic beach!
