This is a fairly easy and straightforward hike. Great for families or people who want to be in nature but want to relax. This hike leads to the West Point Inn where you can have their famous pancake breakfast. Just be sure to look up which days they are serving. They only do it about once a month from May to October.
A moderate effort, dirt trail that winds through grassland and light woods, with several beautiful Vista points. Easily accessed from a large parking area with restrooms. After a scenic drive on the ridge road it makes a good leg stretcher that is doable by everyone except those who have problems with unpaved surfaces.
Perfect place to start a beautiful Pt Reyes hike! Go early on a hot data as the parking lot and fills up!!
The Rock Spring Trailhead is very near a patch of green rock called "serpentine," which is said to be a power point of Native Americans. Sit there quietly for a few minutes and see if you feel the magic. From the parking lot you can also walk through a beautiful forest along a creek to Cataract Falls, or turn right along the actual Rock Spring Trail and go through a meadow.
