  I don't actually ride horses, but my friend boards her horse at Dickson and she's quite happy. The ranch is family owned, and everyone is super friendly and hard working. They do a summer riding program for kids and they participate in (and sometimes sponsor) many community events and fundraisers.

  Not being a horsey person, I can't comment on their equestrian services, but only on their faires, which they hold 1-2 times/year, and are always worth stopping in for look-see. Great place to bring kids.

  They have everything we need. Great staff helps us grow in our abilities,great home for our horses and a wonderful feeling of family. Love these folks!!

  This is one of the last real experiences of a stable/ranch boarding in this area, it has everything a horse lover/owner will need. The owners of Dickson have continued to keep this place going since the 1870's. It's a family owned business and I have been here with my horse Rascal for years now. When I first moved to Marin back in 2010, I didn't know where to go, coming from Chicago area, the real estate agent hooked me up with one of the nice boarders at Dickson, unfortunately for me and Rascal, Dickson had zero openings, I had to use another staple, pretty close by but not happy. I moved to two other facilities in 2010 and 2011. One was way off the charts in fees, would not permit jumping without one of their instructors present, or buying into the package deal of $1.3K a month, which provides lessons, I don't need lessons, the trail was not the greatest either, it is an all English stable, which is what I do, but a bit overbearing. The other stable I went to was nice, close by, but the actual stalls were more of a cattle call. It was close, meaning in stables, but still not quite comfortable, then Dickson had an opening, it was less expensive too, with 3 arenas, one enclosed. one for jumping (with jumps always set up) and the other for more Western riding, with barrels. It doesn't matter, we use them all and get along just fine. We took the stalls near the arenas, each is a box stall with a bit of paddock attached. If you have a big horse like mine, I would suggest getting on the waiting list for one of their bigger paddocks in the "H" sections. We moved there July of 2014, the horses have a big manger type stall, with floor board footing, the actual paddock space is huge. We have a lot of fun down there, making our areas into nice hangouts, there is plenty of shade, with flower beds, lighting, and a stream with a little fall running in the back, most of the tack rooms are on the paddock property. Dickson staff is family, and for those who have been there for awhile, they become and truly care about yours. Dickson is reasonably priced, have horse shows, BBQ's, fund raisers, all kinds of events, and are a very big part of that community. There is a nice friendly country store and post office across the street. The trails are awesome too, so many to choose from, some across SirFD, it's accessible without worry of traffic, to the Spirit Rock side. Limantour Beach is a half hour ride away, Dickson has reasonable rented space for your trailers. I doubt I will ever leave this place, and I hope I will never have to, you will love it here.
