Canine Commons

Dog parks are such a great place to meet nice people. By their self selecting nature, people in dog parks seem to be people who have sometime somewhere wavered from boringness and decided that a dog is worth the bother. The commons has a side for smaller dogs and larger. My observation in our couple of times there is that I might need new glasses but how social they were was more of a deciding factor than size. If you're talking about the dog park at Alston Park in Napa it is fantastic for off leash romping. The dogs love it, running and playing in nature.

So far, the best enclosed area I've found locally, to bring my dog where she can run around off-leash, without bothering or being bullied by other dogs. It's not too muddy.
She is medium to small & timid, although very excitable. So we can have her in the small dog enclosure vs. the big. She can run beside the big dogs along the fence yet be separated at the same time it's a good way for her to learn how to play well with others.
People seem to do a pretty good job of picking up after their small dogs here.
