We live near Walnut Canyon Reservoir. I typically run or walk the periphery trail 3x/week. The trail is 1.7 miles. It's my favorite place to run because the trail is paved and fairly level except a few areas with mild grades. The area and scenery are beautiful with lots of waterfowl, e.g. ducks and geese, and the occasional hawk, eagle, or owl. You'll often see cottontail rabbits and occasionally come across coyotes at dawn and dusk so you'll want to either have a walking/running companion or carry mace. The neighbors and fellow trail walkers are friendly and welcoming. The views on clear days are beautiful; you can even see downtown Los Angeles in the distance. Be careful on windy days, e.g. Santa Ana winds, as you walk the trail over the earthen dam since the winds funnel over the dam and become stronger. Walnut Canyon Reservoir is definitely a plus in the Anaheim Hills area.
Great place to take a nice, long hike or run. Beautiful scenery nestled in beautiful Anaheim Hills.
Great place to walk around the reservoir...about 1.75 miles ????
My Mom feeds the geese and ducks here. The geese are rare Egyptian Geese. They've raised two families they left now. Also good place to run laps.
Good paved trail for walking, jogging, cycling. Also bring your dog along and just enjoy the cool breeze it's nice relaxing & beautiful, and you can hike down to oak canyon nature trail once you see the dirt trail just passing the big cement A for Anaheim.
