I first meet Dr. Oliak in 2004. Referred by my cardiologist.To see IF there was something to help me loose some weight. Was tipping the scale at almost 350 lbs. He did a ‘Lapband` on me 5/5/2004. So, I guess I’m an Old Timer. I wanted to send him a THANK YOU. And let him know I’m doing well at 183 lbs. That means I’ve LOST a whole person! SOoooo THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

I had gastric sleeve surgery with Dr. Oliak 5 years ago. I lost approximately 120 lbs and I’ve managed to maintain my health since then. I went back and forth contemplating surgery for 3 years prior to making the decision to have WLS. I researched quite a few different facilities and doctors before I found and decided to go with Dr Oliak, I am thankful every day for my decision. Today I lead a much healthier and happier lifestyle! He and his staff are extremely informative, helpful, honest and provide the best advice and services based on what they feel is the safest, cost effective and beneficial to each individual client. They take the time to explain every detail of the procedure, all costs and what all is entailed. They do not want you to make a swift decision; they want to educate you and have you take your time to make a decision. They have you meet with a Nutritionist prior to surgery also, so that you may better understand your specific body type and learn how to implement the best possible habits and how to utilize specific foods as fuel etc. For me specifically this was HUGE and and much appreciated. It helped me to make the proper lifestyle changes to ensure that the surgery would be a long term success as WLS is a tool, the rest is up to me to maintain and learning about the nutrition and body type and struggles ahead of time is what helped me to maintain these last 5 years. You have to be willing to listen to the advice, follow the process and do your own due diligence to make the permanent lifestyle changes to ensure your health and future. One of the main things I really appreciated and liked about Dr. Oliak and his staff is that they do not cut corners on anything, they want to ensure your safety first and I really appreciate the fact that Dr. Oliak is always and constantly involved in the medical community. He is always in tune and up to date with the latest and greatest technology and medical practices. I give Dr. Oliak and his staff A++++!!!!

Making a decision to have weight loss surgery was not without much soul searching. After years of trying every diet imaginable, some with success, only to gain the weight back and then some, my weight had reached 264 lbs. No longer feeling in control, at the age of 62, I met Dr. Oliak.
My intention was to have a consultation with a doctor, expecting to hear all the usual things we all complain about when talking to our doctors about our weight. Much to my surprise there was none of that. Dr. Oliak’s approach is to provide you with the information, and give you the data he has collected over the years, while discussing the best solution for you and your weight loss journey. The decision has to be yours and yours alone. There was an open dialog with no pressure and no judgement and I left Dr. Oliak’s office feeling that his no nonsense approach to this procedure was an opportunity for positive approach to permanent weight loss.
After 6 monthly visits with all my questions answered, gastric sleeve surgery was scheduled in October 2015. I called it the first day of the rest of my life, and I have never looked back.
After a 2 day hospital stay, with very little discomfort given that the procedure was laparoscopic and minimally invasive I was back to work on Monday. At this point I felt as if I had been given to tools and the education to lose weight but it was still up to me.
That was 3 years ago and as I’ve said so many time – this was the best gift I ever gave myself. I have successfully lost the weight, in excess of the 70% I was told to expect.
Any weight loss procedure is a tool, your dedication to a lifestyle change is a key to the success. Portion control, healthy choices, exercise and following the guidance given by Dr. Oliak is a straight path to another success story. Do all the research, write down your questions and then make that phone call to Dr. Oliak…, it’s the first step to a healthy existence.

I had been overweight my entire life. Knowing I was not living like I wanted because of the limitations that being my body size was placing on me, I went on a search for the answer. Dieting was attempted, as well as all the other methods that are presented to people that are searching for the solution to this problem. After making the decision to have surgery now I had to find the medical team I could confide in, trust and depend on, to help me thru this. After interviewing several Doctors, I went to my appointment with Dr. Oliak, first was a warm greeting from the front desk and it only got better from there. After the initial interview and consult with Dr. Oliak, his staff worked with my insurance and got all the necessary approvals. There was no pressure, no sales pitch, just the feeling that they want you to succeed.
Surgery went well as expected. After being released from the hospital Dr Oliak called the next day to make sure all was well. At no time did I feel like I was in this alone, make no bones about it this is an adventure that takes work but trust me it makes all the difference in the world.
I have gone two years after the surgery, I still have contact with Dr. Oliak and his staff who I truly believe have changed my life.

I absolutely love Dr. Oliak. He helped change my life!! After doing a great deal of research, I choose Dr. Oliak as my personal surgeon. From the moment I met him, through my entire journey, I have felt extremely comfortable with him and his staff. I have had many questions, concerns, etc. come up. Dr. Oliak has always taken the time to answer my questions, and respond to my concerns.

I highly recommend the gastric bypass surgery to anyone who is tired of what they see in the mirror. It has transformed my life, made me happier, healthier, and a better mom/wife. I now feel good about myself, and therefore am able to be more positive about everything. I know what it is like to be so serverly depressed and hate who I became. I know what it is like to try every diet, meal plan, weight loss gimmick out there and fail. I also know what it is like to succeed, with the Gastric sleeve. My life is forever changed.

I could have chosen any doctor to help me, but I choose Dr. Oliak. This is a pretty big surgery, and I wanted some one I could literally trust with my life.

I highly HIGHLY recommend Dr. Oliak for anyone considering this surgery. He is professional, caring, and knowledgeable in his profession. Your life will never be the same, once you choose this path. Dr. Oliak is the best out there!!!
