Dr. Mathews is the best. He carefully explains the procedure, provides a detailed explanation of the findings and does follow-up. I have been a patient on 3 occasions and will soon have my 4th experience. His staff is very supportive and kind.

Dr. Mathews is EXTRAORDINARY! He is smart,knowledgeable,informative,good listener,courtesy and just a phenomenal doctor . Has a wonderful office staff. A true professional in every way. Dr Mathews made a big difference in my life with providing excellent healthcare . I have respect and great appreciation of a caring doctor.
I have been under Dr Matthews' care for at least three colonoscopies and endoscopies. At each visit, at the GI center, the nursing and technical support staff rave about how nearly each of them have likewise been examined by Dr Matthews in the same procedures and had a wonderful experience. Wonderful? Seriously? Dr Matthews is a most caring, competent and generous physician. The atmosphere among the medical staff is full of levity, as well as compassion. Any GI procedure will require unpleasant prep to clear the pipes so the view is clear. So that's a given. But - although I'm not saying it's a party atmosphere - I enjoyed the process and the people, from start to finish. And I am old enough, and have sufficient medical issues, that I've had colonoscopies by at least two other GI doctors (in Pasadena and in Beverly Hills). Dr Matthews is the best. I am genuinely grateful and pleased to be under his care, and, oh boy (!), I'm scheduled for another colonoscopy and endoscopy in mid-August 2017. And I return as a joyful, willing and trusting patient of Dr Matthews
Dr.Mathews is a caring physician that spends time with his patients. He never gives up until he finds the reason for pain. Calls to check on patient after hours. Based on his knowledge, I have referred several family members, and they are also very pleased with him and his nurses.
