(January 11, 2019, 8:26 pm)Great for events, with good to excellent food and pretty good service. The renovation a few years ago made it much nicer, and the greenhouse/patio is a great spot if you don't like the dim main area.
That said, have yet to try the full menu since event menus are, by necessity, somewhat limited... so will have to report back later on the full menu.
Also the bar on the side appears to be a solid use of the space, a little crowded but that's how bars should feel, at least in this kind of place! -

(December 25, 2018, 1:19 pm)We enjoy coming here every year to hear the Xmas caroler's during dinner! We kick the evening off at Sidebar with some cocktails and then dinner in the main dining area.
Insider tips! I'd stay away from their steaks. If you're looking for a Morton's, Flemming's, Capital Grille kind of steak, you won't find that here. Stick with what they're known for: their prime rib. Their braised pork and lamb is also good! Creamed corn is delicious! Creamed spinach needed a little more salt. Drinks will be pricey, but to be expected. As for the carolers, they seem to come by the tables a lot less over the years, which is a bummer considering this is our annual tradition. So grab them while you can. They do accept tips as well!
Lastly, you will see Tommy the sommelier! He's a sweet man and has been there for 50 years. Hes super peppy and has such a great spirit about him. Looking forward to seeing him for 50 more years. -

(October 29, 2018, 7:24 pm)The meals, service & atmosphere at 5 Crowns is always TOP NOTCH! We've had many of the meals on the menu and each is delicious, but we tend to come to have the prime rib. It's exceptional! (I also enjoy the lamb chops.)
Each of the servers we've had over the years are terrific, always wanting everything to be perfect. That's why we keep coming back. And, Tommy - well, Tommy is in a category all by himself. He has been the "Roving Ambassador" (as I call him) FOR 50 YEARS at 5 Crowns.
Tommy is one of the reasons I keep returning. Get to know him on your next visit there.
And try the hot fudge sundae. -

(October 19, 2018, 8:22 pm)Went here on a date with my fiance on a Monday night. It wasn't busy at the time (around 730pm), and it made for a delicious, intimate dinner. We shared a meal and we were both full. I think what we got was one of the largest prime rib options. The prime rib is wonderful. Lawry's restaurants basically set the standard for prime rib in my opinion. I also love their creamed spinach.
