Ecological Reserve of Upper Newport Bay

It's a fantastic place to bird-watch. Highly recommended.

What a lively place all the fish jumping out of the water, and birds doing what birds do.

I found this place by mistake (a wrong turn), and was surprised by how peaceful it is and overwhelmed by it's beauty. The air is super fresh here and you can hear the wind, so quite this place is. There are gorgeous birds and breathtaking views. Great place for biking: there's a nice trail and almost no cars ever. Though, of course, you can drive here and park (just don't forget to use your hand break, since it's on a slope). I want to go back there for a hike one day and spend at least two hours in this serene place.

I had a nice time just walking along the paved trail next to this area. It was a nice break from the conference I had been attending all week. I enjoyed watching the birds in the marshes and just having some time to myself in a mostly natural setting.
