I always come here whenever I crave Bun Bo Hue. Would definitely recommend it!
Good food, good prices,,friendly and big packing lot
Best bánh bèo in all of California: freshly pounded dried shrimp chunks, rice cake steamed to just the right softness to carve on your teaspoon, freshly browned scallions topped on each serving. Cant resist having only 1 tray.
Bún bò is the most homely here. As you can see from my picture the broth is VERY clear and does not have tons of hot oil added to it for spice or flavor. It has already a natural lemongrass aroma to it. Tonight I had a piece of pork foot with cartilage and was so surprised at how clean the foot tasted, like the meat had been boiled in clean water. You know how sometimes you eat the skin of the port hock and it smells gamey or like dark meat....yeah, not here!! When my grandma used to boil pork bone she would do it 2 or 3x over until the water was clear, and I can taste the freshness of the pork just as if she had done it in this lengthy soup process.
Dont expect to come here for someone checking on you. My mom and I hardly finished our bánh bèo on our tiny 2 top table and they just put the soup here on the adjacent table without saying a word. Who cares, just enjoy the owners home cooking and walk up to the counter to pay in cash.
It's Afforsable and Delicious. This restaurant knows how to bring out the original flavors of their food
